The Prime Minister of the Netherlands His Excellency Mr. Mark Rutte is undertaking an official visit to India on 5-6 June 2015 at the invitation of the Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi. Prime Minister Rutte's itinerary includes official meetings in New Delhi on June 5 and business engagements in Mumbai on June 6. 2. On June 5 2015, Prime Minister Rutte and Prime Minister Modi held wide-ranging discussions on bilateral and global issues of mutual interest, followed by a luncheon discussion hosted by Prime Minister Modi with 35 CEOs of leading industries of both countries. The two Prime Ministers expressed satisfaction at the longstanding and historical bonds of friendship between the two countries spanning over four centuries and shared values of democracy, pluralism, multiculturalism, human rights and rule of law.
46 Netherlands Prime Minister Rutte, Minister Ploumen for Foreign Trade and Minister Dijksma for Agriculture to visit India
Netherlands Prime Minister Mark Rutte will visit India on the 5th and 6th of June 2015. He will be accompanied by Minister Lilianne Ploumen for Foreign Trade and Minister Sharon Dijksma for Agriculture. The visit of Minister Dijksma to India will start on the 4th of June. She will be accompanied by a delegation of more than 80 Dutch companies and research institutes, headed by the chairman of the Confederation of the Netherlands’ Industry and Employers (VNO-NCW), Hans de Boer.
In the first week of June 2015, the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Mumbai and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands would be hosting ‘Holland Meets Mumbai 2015’. These activities would take place parallel to the visit of the Dutch Prime Minister, Mark Rutte, who would be visiting India along with a trade delegation.
On April 13th 2015, Ambassador Fons Stoelinga and Consul General Geoffrey van Leeuwen presented the prestigious Prince Claus Award in Mumbai. One of this year’s winners of this Dutch award is Sound and Pictures Archives for Research on Women (SPARROW). The founder and the driving force behind SPARROW, Dr. C.S. Lakshmi, accepted the award during the festive ceremony at the National Centre for the Performing Arts, NCPA.

The visit has been organised to further strengthen political and economic ties between the Netherlands and India.
Ambassador Alphonsus Stoelinga and Consul General Leeuwen met with Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra on 13th March 2015, to discuss closer collaboration between the Netherlands and Maharashtra, particularly in the areas of the coastal roadway and water management. They discussed among other things how the Netherlands can exchange knowledge with India to achieve a sound balance between ecological, economic and social sustainability in the building of the new coastal roadway.
